60MN aluminum extrusion press put into operation

Our 6000T aluminum extrusion press, manufactured for Huachang Group, has officially been put into operation. This marks the fifth aluminum extrusion press we have produced for Huachang. Following the commissioning of the 7500T extrusion press last year, the 6000T, 4500T, 3600T, and 2750T machines have all successfully undergone trial production this year.

The 60MN (approximately 6000 tons) aluminum extrusion press is a medium-to-large-scale piece of equipment. Compared to smaller extrusion presses (ranging from 1000 to 3000 tons), it offers significant advantages in performance, efficiency, and application scope.

1. Wider Product Range:

Medium-to-large cross-section profiles: Capable of producing profiles with widths ranging from 300mm to 800mm (such as architectural curtain walls, industrial aluminum profiles, and automotive crash beams), whereas smaller machines are typically limited to 100mm to 300mm.

Complex structure capability: Ensures more stable forming of multi-cavity, thin-wall (3-5mm), or high-precision profiles (such as heat sinks and guide rails), with higher yield rates.

2. Optimized Material Performance:

Higher extrusion ratios (20-100): Compared to smaller machines (10-50), the 60MN press can better refine grain structure, enhancing the strength and toughness of aluminum alloys, making it ideal for mid-to-high-end industrial components.

Reduced defects: The high pressure improves metal flow, minimizing surface cracks, weld lines, and other issues—especially effective for 6xxx and 7xxx series aluminum alloys.

3. Improved Production Efficiency:

Longer single-extrusion lengths: Capable of extruding profiles up to 20-30 meters (compared to 5-15 meters for smaller machines), reducing the need for subsequent cutting and assembly.

Speed and stability: Equipped with an advanced hydraulic system, extrusion speeds are controllable (e.g., 5-15m/min), supporting continuous production. Smaller machines may experience speed fluctuations due to insufficient pressure.

Overall, the 60MN extrusion press strikes a balance between performance, efficiency, and cost, making it ideal for industries requiring medium-to-large, high-precision profiles. While smaller machines are more suited for conventional markets like doors, windows, and furniture, the 60MN model is a more cost-effective choice for enterprises targeting mid-to-high-end manufacturing sectors such as automotive and mechanical industries.
